Joey Ayoub is the MENA Editor at Global Voices as well as a Lebanese researcher currently living in Edinburgh. He is the founder of Hummus For Thought and mostly writes on Syria, Israel-Palestine, and Lebanon.

He has a BS in Environmental Health from the American University of Beirut, an MA in Cultural Studies from SOAS, University of London and is currently doing a PhD at the University of Edinburgh.

His MA thesis was on the politics of Hebrew and Yiddish in Zionist thinking and his PhD research is on the politics of cinema in postwar Lebanon.
