I am the editor of Global Voices Advocacy, where I have the unique pleasure of working with our network of bloggers and advocates dedicated to reporting on threats to online speech, sharing tactics for defending the digital work and words of citizens, and supporting efforts to strengthen Internet policy and practice worldwide. I also have a deep dedication to studying and writing about digital culture and informal information economies in Cuba.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, I have bounced around the Americas for the last ten years, spending long stretches in Buenos Aires, Chicago, Havana, New York, and San Francisco. I currently live in outside of Boston in a town called Somerville, where I am a fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School.
