Workshop: Technology & Innovation for Advocacy - Enhancing Action for Freedom of Information Legislation in the Philippines

Attorney Nepomuceno Malulauan from the Institute for Freedom of Information in the Philippines will be sharing about work of the the Freedom of Information (FOI) activists in the Philippines and key opportunities for taking forward advocacy, action and practice of FOI in 2015. Then session will give FOI activists and participants from other countries to share some of the tech and innovation tools they may have used to further advocacy on FOI or related legislation. Discussions will be centered around tech tools that can be implemented in the Philippines to further mobilize the citizenry and fully utilize the forthcoming legislation to: hold the executive account; improve both transparency and accountability; and for journalists and activists to be able to do so safely.
